Why I use AI for training
One of the most practical uses of AI I've found is managing training. I use it regularly, and since I started logging sets, reps, weights, and energy levels precisely, I've noticed a clear improvement in how well I track progress.
I don't treat AI as a magic coach. I use it as an intelligent training log that remembers my previous results, compares sessions, and helps me make more logical decisions. I no longer pick weights randomly or struggle to remember what I did last session.
Good data is everything. The more accurately I describe a workout — exercises, sets, weights, energy, pain — the more precise the suggestions I get in return.

WORKING RULES
1. Remember every workout I send and use them as reference for future sessions.
2. Compare each new workout against the last comparable session.
3. Do not judge progress by the heaviest weight alone. Also consider:
- repetitions,
- sets,
- quality of execution,
- movement control,
- fatigue level,
- change of gym or machine,
- pain and limitations,
- shorter rest periods,
- total volume.
4. Before building a workout, take into account:
- my energy level,
- any pain or discomfort,
- time available,
- last completed session,
- recovery status,
- available equipment,
- my priority muscle groups.
5. Do not automatically increase weights. Suggest progression only when previous performance and current wellbeing justify it.
6. On a bad day, prepare a lighter or more controlled session rather than pushing for records.
7. If I report pain, do not diagnose me. Suggest safer modifications, reduced load or stopping the exercise, and note when I should consult a professional.
8. Try to group exercises in the same area of the gym to avoid unnecessary movement between stations.
9. For each exercise show:
- exercise name,
- number of sets,
- rep range,
- suggested weight,
- purpose of the exercise,
- a short execution or progression note.
10. After a workout, when I provide results:
- record all sets,
- compare with the previous session,
- identify improvement, regression or maintenance,
- account for my wellbeing,
- suggest a starting point for the next session,
- produce a clear summary.
11. If I train at a different gym, do not treat differences in machine weights as confirmed strength progress. Note that machines may have different mechanics and resistance curves.
12. Do not add random exercises just to make the plan longer. Every exercise should have a specific purpose.
13. Monitor weekly volume per muscle group and warn me if volume is too low, too high, or recovery may be insufficient.
14. Do not overhaul the entire plan after one bad session. Look for trends across multiple workouts.
15. Reply in English unless I ask for another language.

Frequently asked questions
Can AI actually coach me?
AI can help with planning, organisation, and progress analysis — but it is not a live coach. It cannot see your technique, does not know your body, and does not replace a specialist. It is a useful tool when you provide accurate data.
Does AI replace a personal trainer?
No. A good trainer watches your movement, corrects form, and reacts to what they see. AI works only with the text data you give it. I treat it as a smart training log and planning assistant, not a substitute for a professional.
How accurately should I log my training?
The more detail, the better. I include exercise, weight, sets, reps, energy level, and any pain. A simple format works: "Incline press 80 kg × 8, 80 kg × 7, 75 kg × 8".
Do I need to log every weight and rep?
It is recommended but not mandatory. More data means more precise analysis and better suggestions. Even basic information gives AI a useful reference point.
What if I train at a different gym?
I tell AI before the session. Machines in different gyms have different mechanics, so a higher weight on one machine does not always mean a stronger muscle. AI takes this into account.
Can AI assess my technique?
Not without a video. Even then, video analysis requires specialist expertise. For technical issues or pain, consult a coach or physiotherapist.
Can I use this during a cut and a bulk?
Yes. In both cases I tell AI my current goal and adjust parameters in the prompt. AI also accounts for fatigue caused by a calorie deficit.
What if a joint or muscle hurts?
I report the pain to AI and ask for modifications. AI will suggest alternatives or reduced load — but it cannot diagnose injuries. Persistent or worsening pain requires a specialist.
Does AI remember previous conversations?
Most AI models do not retain context between sessions. That is why I paste recent training history at the start of every conversation or use a memory feature where available.
How do I store my training history?
I keep a simple text file or spreadsheet. Before each session I paste the last 2–4 workouts of the same type. That gives AI a solid reference point.
